Awards


In 2023 I was awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Edinburgh Napier University


In 2022 I was awarded the Alumna of the Year Award from the University of Strathclyde.


In 2020 I received the most excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) for Diversity and Inclusion in Electronic Engineering. I received the OBE from Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal at Holyrood Palace in January 2022.


I was one of the 3 finalists for the Women in Defence Promotion of Gender Balance and I was invited to the finalist conference where I received a finalist medal.


On the 6th March 2018, I received an Honorary Life Membership of the Kilmarnock Engineering and Science Society (KESS) for achievements in my field and outstanding support of the society since its founding in 2012.

2016   FDM Everywoman Inspiration Award
I won the Everywoman Inspiration Award sponsored by VMware.

This is awarded to an individual, male or female, for their active committment to encouraging, advancing, sponsoring or championing the progress of women working in  technology.


2015   Women Leadership Achievement Award

I won the Women Leadership Achievement Award from the World Women Leadership Awards in Mumbai



2015   Isabel Hardwich Medal
I received this award in 2015. T
his medal is awarded to a Women’s Engineering Society (WES) member who has made an outstanding and sustained contribution to WES over a number of years and gone above and beyond the call of duty.


2009   Gillian Skinner Award

I received this award from WES for founding the Female Engineering Student Conference

 

2008   IET Innovation Award
Algotronix won the Electronic Category and received a highly commended in the Security Category at the  IET Innovation Awards on the 3 November 2008 for DesignTag (which I developed during my Engineering Doctorate). November 2008 - 2 Major Awards for Algotronics -
Design and Reuse


2008   NMI Emerging Technology Company
Algotronix was named as the winner of the Emerging Technology Company at the NMI award ceremony on 6 November 2008 for our DesignTag product.


2007   Elektra Award
I was the first winner of the Student Engineer of the Year category at the Elektra European Electronics Industry Awards held in London on the 12 December 2007.
